Advent at Walker Chapel
Advent is often called a season of preparation—but what if preparing for Christ’s coming means laying something down instead of picking something up?
This Advent, we invite you to join us for “Disarming Advent,” a five-week journey through the prophet Isaiah’s vision of peace. Together, we’ll explore how God’s arrival in Jesus Christ disarms our world—and us. Each week, we’ll light a candle and lay something down: our violence, our power, our defenses, our doubts, and finally, our fear.
In a world that prizes strength and control, Advent reminds us that God comes to us not as a warrior, but as a child—vulnerable, humble, and full of peace.
Walk with us through this season of holy disarmament and discover the peace that only Emmanuel—God with us—can bring.

Christmas Eve at the Chapel
This Christmas Eve, step out of the noise and into the light.
Join us as we celebrate the night when heaven touched earth—not with power or might, but with peace and presence.
In a world full of anxiety and fear, the story of the manger reminds us that God meets us not in strength, but in vulnerability. The Christ child is born, and the message is clear: Do not be afraid.
Our candlelight worship will include familiar carols, Scripture, and Holy Communion as we welcome the light of Christ into our world and our hearts.
Come and see the good news: the Prince of Peace has come.
