Greetings from the members, friends, and family of God at Walker Chapel United Methodist Church!
When you were young, did you ever play the "fingers game?" We said, "Here’s the Church, and here’s the steeple, open the doors, and see all the people?" Walker Chapel has all of those things.... a wonderful building, a magnificent steeple, great doors, and lots of people.... all gathered at the invitation of our loving and gracious God! Some of our people have been here for quite a while, and many have come to join this community of faith in only the last few months and years. There are folk here with a great many years of life experience and wisdom, and others who are learning to walk for the first time.
It may be that northern Virginia has always been your home.... or you may be a long, long way from home. Your home may be great or small, full or nearly empty, new or long-established, full of laughter or swelled with sorrow. In any event, we want to invite you to come and share in the life of this part of God’s family – just as you are! In the same way that God has invited you and me to share in God’s own heart and life, so we want to invite you to share in our life together.
There’s a place for you at Walker Chapel – one that we hope will feel like home, full of hope and life and light.
If we can be in ministry with you in any way, please contact the Church, either via the telephone (703-538-5200), our e-mail address (office@walkerchapel.org), or stop by at any time the office is open (Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.).
There is always room for one more in our household of faith – in the Choir, in the Nursery, in Sunday School Class, in the Sanctuary, in the Youth Group, among the Handbell Choir, and at the Table of Fellowship.
Like Philip said to the inquisitive Nathaniel about Jesus, "Come and see!" As a community of United Methodist Christians, we believe in and practice a ministry of "Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors."
We hope to greet and meet and welcome you – soon!
Grace and peace.
Jim Earley, Pastor
