Our Mission, Goals and Plans for the Future

 The members of Walker Chapel are devoted to carrying on their Christian faith and ministry in the midst of social change. As individuals and together, we seek to learn, teach, share and live in Christ.

We will glorify God through the practice of our faith in our daily living and proclaim His word to our own and all those around us through worship, Christian fellowship and service.

We will continue to worship together in Christian love, reach out to the community in friendship, offer a church home and spiritual support for all the stages of life, and extend help to the needy, in accordance with the invitation symbolized by our classic steeple.

Through faith, vigorous volunteerism and constant renewal, we will help Walker Chapel to grow and serve as a house of many rooms.

In 1995, Walker Chapel adopted the following objectives as part of its long range plan:

To learn to know God and live through our faith by:
• fostering spiritual growth for all members
• promoting commitment to accomplishment of the Walker Chapel Mission
• increasing awareness of opportunities and needs for service
• investing in our children and youth—our future

To provide Christian love and fellowship for members of the Walker Chapel family through:
• activities that involve members
• events of community interest
• services provided to those who need help

To proclaim God’s word to those around us through:
• worship
• community outreach

To reach and receive those around us by:
• developing a coordinated and sustained effort to publicize Walker Chapel to the community
• targeting children and singles

To assess and position ourselves to sustain continued existence as a viable church through our organization, the chapel staff, the program of ministries, chapel administration, finance and properties.
