United Methodist Women

The UMW is a community of women devoted to developing a creative, supportive fellowship, and expanding concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the United Methodist Church.  Membership is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and to participate in the UMW mission.

The UMW is organized into Circles where each circle has missions as its focus and offers a variety of programs.  While the circles meet separately, they have joint programs from time to time. The UMW financially supports local and global outreach projects.  The UMW at Walker Chapel comprises two circles:

The Susanna Wesley Circle

The Susanna Wesley meets the second Monday of each month at 7:30 pm, usually at someone's home.  The circle supports the church's programs and conducts such activities as collecting, wrapping and distributing gifts to under privileged children (Secret Santa), and collecting and assembling health kits for overseas missions.  The circle also host the Sunday fellowship hour once a month and supports special events at Walker Chapel such as luncheons and dinners.

The Allen Terhune Circle

The Allen Terhune circle meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am, usually at someone's home.  The circle offers programs, fellowship, and outreach opportunities, and in many instances, combines its efforts with the Wesley circle in supporting special events at the church.  The circle also hosts the Sunday fellowship hour once a month.
